I’m not sure if this is funny, or just plain sad. But it’s definitely something Vols fans can have fun with.

No one is ever going to accuse Alabama of having the smartest fan base in college football.

That was confirmed this week when one of their fans somehow forgot that Hawaii is part of the United States. Or that folks from Hawaii speak english. Specifically Crimson Tide backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Check out this incredible post on a message board, captured by Sports Illustrated writer Ben Reiter.

I guess I shouldn’t be shocked, but I am — on several different levels.

Who doesn’t realize that Hawaii is one of the 50 states? Or that its inhabitants speak english?

And on top of that, has this guy never watched baseball? Even if a player, in whatever sport, doesn’t speak english, they can still communicate with their teammates. But that’s another story entirely.

By the way, here’s a video, as if that’s even needed, of Tagovailoa speaking perfect english earlier this year.

Alabama fans might cheer for the best college football team in the world, but the limits of their knowledge stop somewhere around first downs and touchdowns.

If you’re a fan of the Tennessee Vols, make sure you bookmark this for “Bama hate week” in October. Tennessee might not be able to beat this juggernaut of a team on the field, but they can sure as hell win the battle off the field.

After all, that’s the only battle fans can fight, and we all know that Vol Twitter always goes undefeated during football season.
