Vols Football: 5 Realistic Coaches The Tennessee Fan Base Deserves
By Zach Ragan
Chip Kelly
Former head coach at Oregon
I’m not as set on Chip Kelly being the end all/be all among college football coaching hires next season. But I still think he’s one the best hires that can be made.
Kelly can flat out coach. He lost seven games over four seasons at Oregon. And he won ten games in the NFL in two different years.
I’m pretty sure he’d be able to win the SEC East on a near yearly basis. And he’d likely have Tennessee competing for national championships. Plus, he’d have Jarrett Guarantano available to run his offense. Maybe he’d even get Mark Helfrich to re-join him as his offensive coordinator. Get the whole gang back together.
This is a guy that you throw your money at, because it’s going to be worth it. And you don’t want another SEC school, such as Texas A&M or Florida, scooping Kelly up. If the Vols are able to hire Kelly, they’re set up for success for a long time.
