Mike Norvell

Head coach at Memphis

Mike Norvell wouldn’t be my first choice to take over at Tennessee, but I think he could do a decent job.

Of course the question you have to ask is whether or not Norvell can take Tennessee to a championship level.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to give a definitive answer.

Norvell is in his second season as the Memphis head coach, after serving as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Arizona State from 2012 to 2015. He’s done a great job with former Vols quarterback Riley Ferguson, so it’s obvious he knows how to coach quarterbacks.

This is one of those guys that down the road ends up being one of the best coaches in college football. Or he could be another Butch Jones. It’s a gamble Tennessee would have to take if they hired him.
