It’s the last week of September, which means we’re nearing the halfway point of the 2017 college football season.

I’ll the the first to admit that my game picks haven’t exactly been stellar this season.

And last week was no different. I picked eight games in week four, going 3 and 5 against the spread, and 6 and 2 picking the games straight up.

I’m now 14 and 21 on the season against the spread, and 28 and 11 straight up.

This week, there are a few games that I’m not going to bother picking. New Mexico State vs Arkansas and Eastern Michigan vs Kentucky won’t be included in these picks.

Instead, I’ll pick some non-SEC games in their place.

There are some fun games on the slate this week. Several of the games can change the landscape of the SEC East battle, starting with the Georgia vs Tennessee game. The Vols have won two straight against the Bulldogs, but it’ll be tough for them to extend that win streak to three, as this is one of the better Georgia teams that we’ve seen in recent years. The matchup between the Volunteers and the Bulldogs, however, always seems to go down to the final play (the game hasn’t been decided by more than one score since 2010), so I wouldn’t expect a blowout in this one.

Anyway, on to the game picks for week five!
