Tony Elliot

Offensive coordinator at Clemson

I’m of the opinion that it’s probably too soon to consider Tony Elliot as a head coach in the SEC. He’s probably worthy of being a head coach, but given his lack of experience, he needs to cut his teeth somewhere else first.

But with that said, any coordinator that’s part of a national championship team has to be considered.

Elliot, along with the aforementioned Brent Venables, has helped turn Clemson into a power house. We’ve seen plenty of great coaches spawn from similar situations.

I don’t think Elliot will get a lot of serious consideration for a SEC job, but if Tennessee ends up going pretty far down the list, he’s someone that should probably get a call.
