Tennessee Vols: 5 Best Coaches To Replace Butch Jones 4.0
By Zach Ragan
Jeff Brohm — Purdue Head Coach
I’m a litte late jumping on the Jeff Brohm bandwagon.
Brohm is a Bobby Petrino protege. He coached under Petrino at Louisville in the early 2000’s, and again at Western Kentucky in 2013 (Brohm was the offensive coordinator when WKU visited Neyland in 2013).
The former XFL quarterback took over for Petrino at WKU in 2014. In his three seasons as a head coach at WKU, he led the Hilltoppers to two double digit win seasons.
Brohm took the head coaching gig at Purdue this past off-season, and he’s enjoying some success there, which isn’t an easy thing to do. Purdue is coming off a 31-17 win against PJ Fleck and Minnesota.
I’m not sure there’s a more fiery guy than Brohm. His pregame rituals make me want to get off the couch and hit someone — and I’m not an ex-football player.
The departure from weird acronyms and trash cans on the sideline would be a welcomed sight for Vol fans.
