Gary Patterson — TCU

This one is a favorite of Tennessee fans.

There’s no doubt that Patterson is a great coach, and I think he’d do great at Tennessee.

But he’s not leaving TCU.

Patterson, who is 57, has been at TCU since 1998. He’s been the head coach since 2000. That’s a long time to be in one place, and he’s still finding consistent success. Why would he leave that?

Oh and Patterson is making just south of $5 million a year.

Good pay, low level of scrutiny (he’s had two losing seasons in the last five seasons and no one seemed to notice), and great job security. He’d be a fool to leave that situation.

Sorry folks, Patterson isn’t leaving the Big 12.
