1. Chip Kelly — Former head coach at Oregon

Everyone says Chip Kelly is destined for the west coast. That he has his eyes set on the UCLA job.

Maybe that’s true, but the Vols still have to make a run at the former Oregon head coach.

There’s no doubt that Kelly is the best available college coach right now. What he accomplished with the Ducks was simply incredible. I have no doubt that Kelly would turn Tennessee into a national championship contender.

If they swing and miss on Kelly, then so be it. But you have to make those calls.

And who knows, maybe Kelly isn’t obsessed with going back to the west coast. After all, he still lives on the east coast. He loves New Hampshire and he’s said it’s as close to heaven as you can get.

No one knows what Kelly will do. He’s notoriously tight lipped about his personal life and future plans. I think it’s a complete toss up rather or not he would seriously consider coming to Knoxville.
