Tennessee Vols: Updated List Of Coaches To Replace Butch Jones
By Zach Ragan
Jeff Brohm — Head coach at Purdue
I was all in on Jeff Brohm last week.
But then Purdue lost to Rutgers on Saturday and I had to dial back my excitement a bit.
I’m still a fan of Brohm (I absolutely love his intensity), but he’s not as sure of a thing as I previously thought he was.
There’s no doubt that Purdue is a better team than they were last season. The Boilermakers only won three games in 2016 and Brohm has already matched that total through seven games this season.
And let’s keep in mind that Nick Saban didn’t exactly kill it during his first year at Alabama.
The Tide lost four straight games to close the 2007 season (including a loss against Louisiana-Monroe), before winning their bowl game against Colorado to clinch a winning record.
The Vols could do a lot worse than Brohm, but the hope is that Tennessee doesn’t get this far down their list. But if they do, I still think they’ll be ok moving forward.
