The Tennessee Vols are about to be in the market for a new head coach.

We’ve been putting these lists together for what seems like forever now.

And now it appears we will finally have a legit reason very soon. After a loss to Kentucky, there’s no way Butch Jones survives this season. It’s all a matter of timing now.

Before we dive into the latest list of potential replacements for Jones, we have to go ahead and mention a few names you won’t find on this list.

Obviously Tennessee will gauge the interest of guys like Justin Fuente, Scott Frost, Mike Gundy and Chip Kelly. If you can get one of those guys, then you absolutely sign them to a contract. I think that’s a given. But I don’t think it’s very likely any of those guys will end up in Knoxville.

Fuente has a good thing going at Virginia Tech. Frost will only leave UCF for Nebraska (if he leaves at all). Gundy might not get along with the AD at Oklahoma State, but it’s hard to see him leaving his alma mater. And it seems more and more likely that Kelly will end up at UCLA or Arizona State.

With that said, here are six coaches that could be coaching on Rocky Top next season.
