Chad Morris — Head coach at SMU

We haven’t talked much about Chad Morris in the last month or so while we’ve been going over potential head coaches at Tennessee.

Morris has done a good job at SMU. It took him a couple of years to turn around a bad situation, but he has the Mustangs off to a 6-2 start this season.

The former Clemson offensive coordinator was mentioned by Dan Wolken recently as someone that could potentially land in Knoxville.

But Morris is an alumni of Texas A&M, and that job could be open after this season. Morris was very careful in selecting his destination when he left Clemson, I think he’ll do the same with his next move and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in College Station.

However, Tennessee might be intriguing to Morris because he knows the recruiting area so well. I think he could have a lot of success on Rocky Top if he chose to come to Knoxville.
