Scott Frost could be a potential candidate to replace Tennessee Vols head coach Butch Jones.

I’m not very confident that UCF head coach Scott Frost will seriously consider heading to Knoxville to coach the Tennessee Vols, but he’s still someone you have to call to at least gauge his interest.

The general consensus is that Frost will do one of three things: stay at UCF, take the job at Nebraska, or take the job at Florida.

Frost will choose his next move very carefully, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to tip his hand.

Here’s what he had to say to reporters on Monday.

Like most coaches, Frost has no desire to talk about where he may or may not coach next year, while he’s in the middle of the season.

If Frost starts looking ahead, and not focusing on his current team, then he could put a special season in jeopardy.

But Frost knows that. And he’s not going to do anything to take away from the special season that UCF is putting together.

For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t be shocked if Frost does any of the three things I mentioned above. I think each of those things have an equal chance of happening.

Frost has a good thing going, but the Florida job is one of the best in football, and it’s hard to tell your alma mater no.

One thing, however, is certain — Scott Frost will have a major decision to make at the end of the 2017 season.
