Butch Jones is fired after a loss to Missouri

At this point, Jones is probably gone after his next loss.

If Tennessee beats Southern Mississippi, but loses to Missouri, it will put the Volunteers at 4-6. That would mean they’d need to win out against LSU and Vanderbilt to reach a bowl game.

Considering the way LSU is playing right now, that doesn’t seem likely to happen.

With a bowl game probably out of reach, there’s really no benefit to keeping Jones around.

And there would definitely be no reason to let him walk into Neyland Stadium again.

Missouri isn’t a very good team, but their offense puts points on the board. I can’t’ see Tennessee winning a shootout with any team.
