Butch Jones is fired after a loss to Vanderbilt

If the Vols manage to beat Southern Mississippi and Missouri, I think Jones can survive a loss to LSU on November 18.

Fans would still be restless, but the Vols would at least be competing for the opportunity to reach a bowl game in the final game of the season.

I think Jones is gone regardless of how this season plays out, but finishing with a 5-7 record would definitely be the nail in the coffin for him.

It would also mean that Jones lost to Vanderbilt in three out of his five seasons at Tennessee.

That’s something that should never ever happen at Tennessee.
