The Tennessee Vols are two games away from bowl eligibility with three games remaining in 2017.

Butch Jones is still the head coach of the Tennessee Vols, after leading UT to a win against Southern Mississippi on homecoming night, but he almost certainly won’t be back in 2018.

With that in mind, we’ve put together our latest list of top head coach coach candidates for Tennessee.

We’ve been putting these lists together for over a month now, because they’re ever changing. But there are a few names that have consistently stayed on the list. There are also names that have mostly faded from our radar (looking at you, PJ Fleck).

Two names that aren’t on this list are Chip Kelly and Jon Gruden.

It doesn’t appear that Chip Kelly is going to coach in the SEC, but I still think Tennessee should make that call.

As far as Gruden goes, well I honestly don’t know what to think.

There seems to be some legitimacy to the Gruden talk, but it’s unclear how serious things will get between the two parties.

For what it’s worth, I think Gruden would do a tremendous job on the field, but no one knows how he’d handle all the off the field noise that comes with being a head coach at the college level.

I’ll admit, however, that Gruden is worth keeping an eye on for now.

With that in mind, here are our top 10 head coaching candidates for the Vols in 2018.
