Tennessee Football: Latest List Of Top 10 Coaching Options To Lead Vols In 2018
By Zach Ragan
8. Chad Morris — Head coach at SMU
This is the first time Chad Morris has made an appearance on one of our coaching lists.
But Morris, despite losing a close game to UCF this past week, has our attention.
The former Clemson offensive coordinator left the ACC in 2015 to take over a significant rebuild at SMU. It’s been a long process, but Morris has the Mustangs off to a 6-3 start this season.
The big problem with Morris, however, is that he might be destined for Texas A&M, his alma mater.
If the Aggies fire Kevin Sumlin, there’s little doubt that Morris will be their top target.
But he would still be an interesting option for the Vols. Morris, because of his time at Clemson, knows the recruiting area in East Tennessee and upstate South Carolina.
Tennessee could do a lot worse than Chad Morris.
