Tennessee Football: Latest List Of Top 10 Coaching Options To Lead Vols In 2018

7. Mike Norvell — Head coach at Memphis
It’s hard to not be impressed by what Mike Norvell is doing at Memphis.
In his first season ever as a head coach in 2016, the former Arizona State offensive coordinator led the Tigers to an 8-5 record.
He’s done even better this season, leading Memphis to an 8-1 start (their only loss is to UCF).
Norvell has also helped Riley Ferguson maximize his talent and become one of the top quarterbacks in the nation.
As with several coaches on this list, the concern with Norvell is that he has no SEC experience. And he’s only been a head coach for two seasons.
I like Norvell’s potential a lot, and I think he’s going to be a solid head coach, but at this point in his career he’s far from a sure thing.
