Tennessee Football: Latest List Of Top 10 Coaching Options To Lead Vols In 2018

5. Dan Mullen — Head coach at Mississippi State
I’m not nearly as excited by Dan Mullen as a lot of Tennessee fans, but he’s still a good coach that’s had some decent success in the SEC West.
His name has also been linked to Tennessee several times in the last week, though it’s assumed the noise is coming from Mullen’s agent, Jimmy Sexton (the same agent that represents Butch Jones).
I’m not sure Mullen actually wants to leave Mississippi State. His job seems fairly secure in Starkville, and he’s making nearly $5 million a year. He will likely use the Tennessee job to get himself a raise.
But if Mullen is seriously considering leaving Mississippi State, then I think Tennessee could be a job that would interest him.
In case you’re wondering, Mullen typically lands recruiting classes that are ranked between 20th and 30th in the nation.
