Tennessee Vols: 5 Great Hires Vols Could Make
By Zach Ragan
Gary Patterson — TCU Head Coach
In late 2008, the Vols considered offering Gary Patterson their head coaching job.
Instead, they handed the keys to the kingdom to Lane Kiffin. And we all know how that turned out.
Patterson is another coach that seems happy where he’s at, but he’s made the comment recently, on several occasions, that he’ll never say never in regards to taking another job.
I don’t have any doubts that Patterson could kill it at Tennessee. He’d be worth whatever the Vols offered him.
Since Patterson took over at TCU in 2000, the program’s had ten 10-win seasons. They’ve also finished in the top 10 on six different occasions.
What’s even more impressive is the talent that Patterson has used to accomplish those feats. Since 2010, Patterson’s recruiting classes are ranked 34th in the nation.
Oh boy, can you imagine what he could do at Tennessee?!?!
