CHARLOTTE, NC – DECEMBER 01: Coach Greg Schiano of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers argues with referee Ron Winter /

Greg Schiano — Ohio State Defensive Coordinator

I think Greg Schiano is probably the most gettable coach on this list.

Obviously he wants to be a head coach again, and he already proved at Rutgers that he’s a pretty damn good college head coach.

Things didn’t work out for Schiano in the NFL, but the experience definitely made him a better coach/person. He was humbled a bit and forced to take a look at the way he interacts with players.

The same can also be said of his time at Ohio State with Urban Meyer. Schiano has said on several occasions that working with Meyer has given him a fresh approach as a head coach.

As good as Schiano was at Rutgers, I think he’ll be that much better now.

Plus there’s the fact that Schiano is fiercely loyal. He had an opportunity to take the head coaching gig at Miami when he was at Rutgers. But he was committed to the Scarlet Knights. The only reason he left was to get a shot in the NFL.

I would absolutely love to see what Schiano could do with the resources that Tennessee provides.
