Oregon State Beavers

Les Miles — Former LSU Head Coach

It’s not a big secret that Les Miles wants to return to coaching. He’s basically begging for a job.

Big programs typically don’t hire guys begging for a job (except for Tennessee when they hired Butch Jones).

I don’t think Les Miles is going to be begging for the Oregon State job, but I think it’s probably his best shot at landing a Power-5 head coaching gig.

Miles isn’t the best long term answer (he just turned 64 this past weekend), but he could quickly stabilize Oregon State’s program and turn them into a decent team in the Pac-12.

That would in turn make the Oregon State job more attractive whenever Miles decides to call it a career (perhaps they even promote a coordinator).

This isn’t the job that Miles is dreaming of landing, but will probably be the best he can get.
