Gary Patterson — TCU head coach

The feeling is that Patterson doesn’t have any interest in the Tennessee job.

But there’s still two weeks left in the season, which means a lot of coaches are focused on their teams (at least they should be).

Patterson would be a slam dunk hire for the Vols. He flirted with Tennessee in 2008, but the Vols didn’t offer him the job. They instead hired Lane Kiffin (something that John Currie had a lot to do with).

Would Patterson seriously consider an offer from the program that spurned him for Kiffin?

I don’t know if he would or not. But his “never say never” comment that he made multiple times this year (and he clearly had a good idea of which jobs would be open when he made those comments) means you have to pursue him.
