1. Gary Patterson — TCU Head Coach

This has to be the top option for Tennessee.

Patterson’s teams almost always finish with 10-12 wins, and they oftentimes finish in the top 10 (sometimes top 5).

That’s pretty impressive considering TCU isn’t a traditional powerhouse (they joined the Big 12 in 2012).

I think Patterson could absolutely kill it with the resources that Tennessee provides.

But he was passed over for the job in 2008 (UT hired Lane Kiffin instead). Would Patterson hold that against Tennessee?

I still think Patterson is happy at TCU, and I don’t see him leaving, but I think he’d at least be willing to listen to Tennessee.
