Matt Campbell — Iowa State Head Coach

I’m not as big on Campbell as most, but his name has been kicked around a bit, so that’s why he’s on this list.

Obviously Campbell’s had some success this season at Iowa State, upsetting Oklahoma and TCU. But I’m just not sure he’s a good fit in the SEC. I think he’s probably a B1G coach (not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s a premier conference).

Coaching fit matters a lot. Butch Jones never fit at Tennessee. You don’t want to put a coach in a position to fail.

Right now, Campbell doesn’t have any pressure on him. We have no idea how he’d respond to a job like Tennessee.
