Lane Kiffin — FAU Head Coach

Go ahead and roll your eyes, but if you take away how Kiffin left Tennessee in early 2010, then he’s the perfect candidate for the Vols.

He did ok at USC in an impossible situation, and then he absolutely killed it as Alabama’s offensive coordinator for three seasons (Kiffin’s departure before the championship game is absolutely why Bama lost to Clemson).

And finally, Kiffin has turned FAU into a relevant football program. There might not be a better offensive mind in the country than Kiffin.

Unfortunately, because of the past, Kiffin won’t get another shot at Tennessee. Even though he’s someone that could immediately turn the Vols around and could have them competing at a championship level.

Instead of hiring Kiffin for fairly cheap (more money for staff), the Vols will instead probably hire DJ Durkin or Jeff Brohm.

Can’t we agree to let the past be the past and get Kiffin back so the Vols can once again excel.
