Matt Campbell — Iowa State Head Coach

Matt Campbell’s name has been out there a lot the last couple of days.

I’m not sure how interested Tennessee is in Campbell, but I can understand why they would be.

Campbell had decent success at Toledo, which led to him landing the Iowa State job. He had a rough first year with the Cyclones, but he’s turned it around in 2017, leading Iowa State to a 7-4 record so far (including upsets wins against Oklahoma and TCU).

I think Campbell is a good coach, but I’m not sure he’d a great fit at Tennessee. He seems better suited to stay in Big 12/B1G country.

(I’m also not sure the clichés that he spews on a regular basis would go over very well in Knoxville.)

Campbell’s $9 million buyout might prevent him from leaving Iowa State this year.
