Mike Norvell — Memphis Head Coach

Mike Norvell’s success has been overshadowed a bit this year by Scott Frost’s success at UCF.

But I don’t think we should discount what Norvell has done at Memphis because of Frost’s success.

Norvell went 8-5 in his first season at Memphis and he has the Tigers at 10-1 so far this season. Memphis has a huge showdown with UCF next Saturday (UCF beat Memphis earlier this season).

Obviously Norvell inherited a good situation at Memphis, but as a first time head coach, you still have to be impressed with what he’s been able to accomplish in just two years.

And let’s also not forget that Fuente’s offense is based off what Norvell was doing at Arizona State.

Norvell might be the most underrated head coaching candidate out there right now.
