Lane Kiffin — FAU Head Coach

This is still the best option for Tennessee, but I’m not sure they’ll be smart enough to go down this road again.

The stuff with Lane from 2010 and leaving for the USC job was overblown, in true Tennessee tradition.

Vol fans are incredibly passionate, but sometimes the passion can be overwhelming. I think that’s what happened in 2010. It was a tough situation, but it’s still one where I don’t blame Kiffin for leaving and taking the USC job.

Things obviously didn’t work out for Kiffin at USC, but when you have only 44 scholarship players (instead of 85) that tends to happen.

Kiffin was reborn after a three year stint with Alabama and he’s proving at FAU this season that he’s an elite head coach.

The Vols would have instant success with Kiffin at the helm.
