David Shaw — Stanford Head Coach

If you can’t get Jim Harbaugh, then perhaps you can get his protege — David Shaw.

I’m not a huge fan of college head coaches making the jump to the NFL — it rarely works out.

But Shaw is the exception for me. Shaw has experience in the NFL (he coached in the NFL for 8 years from 1997-2005) and his style of play seems like it would be successful in the NFL.

While I think Shaw will eventually end up in the NFL, I’m not sure the timing is quite right. He still has kids in the home, which could make a decision to leave the comforts of Stanford a tough one.

But I think it’s still a phone call you make. You never know what the answer might be.
