Former Tennessee Vols running back Alvin Kamara is making quite an impression as a rookie in the NFL.
Former Tennessee Vols running back Alvin Kamara is quickly making a name for himself in the NFL as one of the game’s most dynamic playmakers.
Kamara, who is a lock to be named the offensive rookie of the year, has rushed for 684 yards and seven touchdowns through 15 games (6.2 yards per carry). He’s also caught 75 passes for 742 yards and five touchdowns.
(Perhaps as impressive, Kamara has only fumbled once this season.)
As great as Kamara has been, his stats aren’t what folks were talking about this past week.
Nope, that would be his “grinch shoes” he wore during New Orleans’ game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The NFL fined Kamara for his shoe choice.

Kamara, however, didn’t seem bothered by the fine.
In fact, he said his red holiday inspired cleats were “worth it”.

Kamara obviously knew a fine was on the way. He said he plans to start a Go Fund Me and give some cash to charity.
Alvin Kamara on his likely fine for wearing red cleats: "I’m going to make a GoFundMe — yeah, I’m getting fined — and whatever the fine is, I’m going to pay the fine and the rest I’m going to donate to a charity. Simple as that."

The former Vol is truly one of a kind.
It’s just too bad Butch Jones didn’t realize Kamara’s greatness while he was at Tennessee.
There’s no doubt Jalen Hurd performed extremely well during his time at Tennessee. But Kamara is in a league of his own. The fact that he was a backup at UT is a travesty.
Then again, we’re talking about the same coach who wanted to play JJ Watt at tight end/offensive tackle.

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.
