Former Tennessee Vols running back Travis Henry hasn’t played a down in the NFL since 2007.

The Tennessee Titans need a win on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars to secure a playoff spot.

In an effort to make sure they get the win, they’re enlisting the services of former Tennessee Vols running back Travis Henry — who last played in the NFL in 2007 for the Denver Broncos.

Ok, maybe not. But ESPN’s graphics department briefly forgot on Thursday night that Travis, who played for the Titans from 2005-06, has been out of the league for a decade.

Obviously ESPN was talking about Derrick Henry, the second year running back out of Alabama.

But forgive me if the thought of 39 year old Travis Henry suiting up for the Titans makes me giddy.

Henry, who is the Vols’ all-time rushing leader, is one of the best players in Tennessee history. The rushing duo of Henry and Jamal Lewis might be one of the best combinations in college football history.

During Henry’s NFL career, he rushed for 6,086 yards and 38 touchdowns. He was elected to the Pro-Bowl in 2002 after his stellar sophomore season with the Buffalo Bills.

Henry’s 2005 season with the Titans wasn’t anything to write home about (he rushed for 335 yards in ten games), but his 2006 season in Nashville was one of the best years of his career.

In 2006, Henry rushed for 1,211 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games.

Unfortunately for Henry, his solid 2006 campaign was overshadowed in the AFC because of talented players like Edgerrin James, Larry Johnson and LaDainian Tomilson.
