Former Vols Punter Britton Colquitt Sports Interesting Facial Hair
By Zach Ragan
Former Tennessee Vols punter Britton Colquitt made an interesting facial hair choice this weekend.
When it comes to facial hair, my personal philosophy is to keep it simple.
That’s why I typically go with a light beard (also because my grown out beard is below average). It’s served me well in my adult life, but I digress.
There are some folks, however, who can pull off some crazy facial hair. It just suits some people.
Former Tennessee Vols punter Britton Colquitt is one of those people.
Colquitt, who played at Tennessee from 2004-07, is in Pittsburgh this weekend to take on the Steelers as a member of the Cleveland Browns.
And his facial hair choice is a bit perplexing, but it seems to work for the former Vol.
It works for Colquitt, but I’m not so sure it works for Joe Thomas.
But to each their own.
Colquitt is in his second season as the Browns’ punter. He spent seven seasons with the Denver Broncos before coming to Cleveland (he also spent eight days on the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad in 2009).
The former Vol won a Super Bowl with the Broncos in 2016 with fellow former Vol Peyton Manning.
Colquitt was released by Denver before the 2016 season, after he refused to accept a pay cut (he had just accepted a pay cut the year before).
The Broncos haven’t made the playoffs since releasing Colquitt (they had made the playoffs in five straight seasons with Colquitt on the team).
Perhaps it’s just a coincidence, but the numbers don’t lie — Denver was better with Colquitt on the roster.
(They also likely had better facial hair.)
