The Tennessee Vols are continuing to dish out offers at a furious rate.

2020 tight end Dustin Dyson tweeted on Wednesday that he received an offer from the Tennessee Vols.

Dyson, 6’4″/200 lbs from Hammond, LA (St. Thomas Aquinas), hasn’t been rated yet by 247Sports.  But he’s garnered interest from several SEC schools.

LSU and Mississippi State have both offered Dyson.

The Louisiana native was offered by LSU last summer.

According to 247Sports, Dyson is being recruited to Tennessee by Brian Niedermeyer (he’s expected to be the tight ends coach at UT next season).

The Vols don’t currently have any 2020 commits, but they’ve already offered 80 players in the 2020 class.

Interestingly enough, Dyson is the first 2020 tight end that Tennessee has offered.

Considering the early interest from SEC schools in Dyson, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being rated as a four-star recruit in the near future.

It’s certainly a good thing the Vols offered early, it should give them an advantage over rival schools.

However, LSU will obviously have the edge here. It’s extremely hard to get elite talent to leave the state of Louisiana. LSU has done a fantastic job of building a fence around the state.

But I’m certain the Volunteers will give it a valiant effort. And if they can get Dyson on campus (which I’m sure they will), then who knows what could happen.

Tennessee’s 2018 recruiting class is currently rated No. 6 in the SEC and No. 17 in the nation.

It’s very possible the Vols could end up with a top ten class in 2018.
