Predators head into All-Star Break on an 8-game point streak
Stars of the Week
3rd Star – Viktor Arvidsson – 2 goals
Viktor Arvidsson has played great for the Predators this year, especially during Forsberg’s absence. Arvidsson scored two goals this week, as he scored one in each game. Arvidsson put the Predators up 2-1 on the Lightning in the 1st period. Arvidsson then scored a shorthanded goal on a breakaway to put the Predators up 3-0.
2nd Star – Pekka Rinne – 27 saves, 1.000 Save Pct.
It was a hard choice to put Rinne at the 2nd star, as he looked very deserving of a 1st star. Rinne looked amazing against the Devils, not allowing a goal at all on 27 shots. Rinne has four shutouts on the year, which is tied for 2nd in the NHL. Not only did Rinne play great during the Devils, but he also had a great All-Star weekend. He looked great in the Save competition, as well as during the All-Star game.
1st Star – P.K. Subban – 2 goals, 1 assist
Subban has played great this year, as he leads the team in points with 37. Subban has scored a goal in his last three games, including the two games last week. He scored on a power play goal in the 2nd period of the Lightning game. Subban then scored the 1st goal of the game for the Predators against the Devils, making it his 12th goal of the season. Subban then picked up an assist on Arvidsson’s goal in the 3rd period.
