Tennessee Titans Expected To Hire Rob Moore As WR’s Coach
By Zach Ragan
Recently hired Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is in the process of filling out his coaching staff.
According to NFL reporter Adam Caplan, the Tennessee Titans are expected to hire Rob Moore as their wide receivers coach.
Moore is coming off a three year stint as the Oakland Raiders wide receivers coach. He wasn’t retained when Oakland hired Jon Gruden.
It doesn’t appear that Moore has any previous connection to Vrabel (there’s no New England connection between the two), so this looks like a case of hiring “the best man for the job”.
Moore, who played in the NFL for 11 seasons, got his coaching career started in 2002 at the high school level.
After two years at the high school level, Moore took a six year hiatus from coaching. During that time, Moore served as a football analyst ESPN Radio 860 in Phoenix (covering the Arizona Cardinals). He also worked as a consultant for Protect Management and Athlete’s Performance.
The former Syracuse wide receiver was hired by his alma mater in 2010, where he coached wide receivers for three years before following Doug Marrone to the NFL. Moore coached Buffalo’s wide receivers for two years (including future Patriot Chris Hogan), before joining Oakland’s staff in 2015.
Moore did a solid job in Oakland working with Amari Cooper and Micahel Crabtree.
Crabtree had become somewhat of a forgotten player after two lackluster seasons with the San Francisco 49ers in 2013-14. But the former Texas Tech wide receiver rediscovered his playmaking ability in Oakland under Moore. He had at least 80 catches in his first two years playing under Moore’s tutelage.

Moore will have plenty of talent to work with in Nashville. I look forward to seeing what he can do with last year’s first round draft pick Corey Davis.
