The Tennessee Volunteers spring game is this upcoming Saturday. The Volunteers are looking to break a spring game attendance record.

The Tennessee Volunteers will host their annual Orange and White game this Saturday in Neyland Stadium at 2:00 PM Eastern. This will be the fans first look at the Tennessee Volunteers on the new year, as they get to see a new staff and many new faces on the team.

The Volunteers are looking to break an attendance record for the game. Many fans will take this free opportunity to see the Volunteers under first year head coach, Jeremy Pruitt. Parking and admission are free, so what better chance to come see the Volunteers in action as spring practice concludes.

The attendance record for the Orange and White game was set in 1986, when the Volunteers pulled in 73,801. Former Head Coach Butch Jones was able to bring in 61,076 in 2013, his first year as the Volunteers coach. Butch Jones was able to bring in four of the top five attendance records, so I think it’s very possible that the Volunteers could break that record on Saturday.

Even after coming off a bad year, the hype surrounding Tennessee football is growing. After getting a new fresh start in coaching under Pruitt and bringing in coaching legend, Phillip Fulmer, as UT’s athletic director, the hype surrounding the team is there.

A few coaches and players have went to Twitter to spread the word about the Orange and White Game on Saturday.

Brian Niedermeyer, the Volunteers tight end coach, took to Twitter, pushing Volunteers fans to pack Neyland Stadium. He even threw the 102K hashtag out there. If the Volunteers were able to pull in 102K, that would be the highest attended spring game in college football history.
