The Nashville Predators forced a Game Seven after dominating the Winnipeg Jets on the road last night. Game Seven will be on Thursday at Bridgestone Arena.

In what was the biggest game of the year so far for the Predators, they responded with a dominating performance to force a Game Seven. Now the biggest game of the year will be on Thursday as the series shifts back to Nashville.

After yet another disappointing performance in Game Five, the Predators responded great on the road, as they came out of Winnipeg with a 4-0 win. That was the first time the Jets had been shut out at home all season long. Pekka Rinne and the defense responded great after an awful performance in Game Five.

This will be just the third game seven in Predators history.

Game Recap

The Predators knew what was on the line and they responded greatly. They began the game off great, getting on the board just over a minute into the game. Viktor Arvidsson tipped a Roman Josi shot as he was falling down to protect his face. The puck hit off of Arvidsson’s stick and went past Hellebuyck, but was initially called off because of a high stick. After a review, the call was overturned, giving the Predators a 1-0 lead early in the game.

The rest of the first period was back and forth but featured no goals. The second period was much of the same until Filip Forsberg went to go get a new stick. Forsberg skated down to the Predators bench to get a new stick, while Craig Smith tossed the puck down ice. Forsberg was able to outduel a Jets defender and sneak the puck past Hellebuyck for his first impressive goal of the night, giving the Predators a 2-0 lead with over 10 minutes left in the second period.

With just five minutes gone in the third period, the Predators got a great chance and were able to capitalize once again. Forsberg was shoved down to the ice by a Jets defender, but was able to receive a pass from Arvidsson, as Forsberg attempted a between-the-legs shot and snuck it past Hellebuyck. A shot like this is no surprise, as Forsberg has pulled off many impressive goals throughout the playoffs so far.

The Predators were able to get a 4-0 lead to put the Jets and their fans to sleep, as Arvidsson scored his second goal of the game on an empty-netter.

The JoFA line played lights out last night for the Predators, which is expected. The first line produced eight points last night. Both Forsberg and Arvidsson put up two goals and one assist each, while Ryan Johansen came away with two assists.

Roman Josi also pulled in two assists, while Craig Smith picked up an assist as well.
