Marcus Mariota

Having Marcus Mariota at 2 is good, but let me tell you there is a big gap between number two and number one. The Titans could have one of the more complete teams in the NFL. They have a good offensive line, two good running backs, a fierce defensive line, and an improved secondary on paper.

Notice one thing I did not mention in that? I did not mention the wide receiver position. Corey Davis is a huge question mark. If he can not step up for Mariota, he will find his quarterback force-feeding Rishard Matthews and Delanie Walker.

Force-feeding a tight end that is aging is a recipe for disaster. Let’s not put all the burden on Davis though. Including Matthews, the other guys such as Taywan Taylor and company should step up for their quarterback.

The wide receiver position could make or break the Tennessee Titans this year. But only if these other questions are answered positively: Will the secondary actually improve on the field? Will the offensive line get back to their dominant ways? Will Derrick Henry respond well to being the starter? Will Malcolm Butler and Dion Lewis prove to be huge pick ups?

And most importantly: was it the right decision to fire Mike Mularkey and hire Mike Vrabel and his crew?

Those are highly important questions. The Tennessee Titans are an interesting team. Because they have so much questions, they also have so much potential. Mariota could be in for a great ride.
