If you missed it last night, Predators Ryan Johansen and Ducks Ryan Kesler continued their beef, as they called each other out on Twitter.

Over the last few seasons, Johansen and Kesler have had some beef with each other on the ice, and now off the ice as well. It might not be real beef, but it does make for some good offseason news.

Kesler started the beef on Twitter by challenging Johansen to a street fight. The two do have a history of fighting on the ice, but never off the ice. If you recall, Johansen and Kesler dropped gloves this past season. Although Johansen never responded directly, he tweeted this around the time of Kesler’s tweet.

They also chirped at each other throughout the 2017 Western Conference Finals. After getting elbowed by Kesler in Game 2 of that series, Johansen said, “I don’t know how you can cheer for a guy like that.” I’m sure Johansen has some bad feelings towards the Ducks for his gruesome injury during that series.

The timing of the Twitter beef is strange considering Johansen is in Kesler’s head during the middle of the offseason. The Ducks and Kesler don’t really have much room to talk trash towards the Predators, considering they are 0-3 in playoffs series and have currently lost five games in a row to the Predators. The Predators put the Ducks out of the playoffs in back to back years, so I can understand the hatred that Kelser and the Ducks might have towards Johansen and the Predators.

This beef will serve for an interesting season series between the Nashville Predators and the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks and the Predators will face off a total of three times this season. The first matchup between the two teams will be in Anaheim on November 12th. It will be interesting to see if the feud between Kesler and Johansen will continue during that game.

The teams will then meet in Nashville two weeks later on November 25th. The season series will end back in Anaheim on March 12th. Depending on how the season goes for both teams, they might have the chance to meet in the playoffs yet again.
