This offseason, a few NHL teams have released an alternate jersey to go along with their home and away jerseys. Will the Predators ever come out with alternate jerseys?

NHL teams have now donned Adidas jerseys for a season now after making the move from Reebok. With it being just the first season with Adidas, no teams had an alternate jersey, as they stuck with just classic home and away jerseys.

This offseason though, a few teams have released alternate jerseys that their teams will wear throughout the season. Most teams are using a throwback sweater, which hopefully the Nashville Predators will do if they ever make the move to alternate jerseys.

Teams that have made the move to alternate jerseys so far are the Arizona Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils, and now the St. Louis Blues. With these teams making the move to alternate jerseys, it makes you wonder if the Predators will make the move to an alternate jersey.

The Predators have donned alternate jerseys in the past, but none of those alternate jerseys have come since the 2011 season. My personal favorites are either the dirty mustard jerseys that the Predators wore from 2001-2007 or the all blue ones they wore from 2007-2009.

The Predators have stuck with their classic gold home jerseys and the away white jerseys ever since 2011, with the helmet changing from blue to gold being the only thing the Predators have changed since then. If the Predators were to go to alternate jerseys, I’m sure a good bit of the fan base would like to see the Predators go back to the dirty mustard or all blue jersey.

Other Alternate Jerseys

As I mentioned earlier, six teams have now added alternate jerseys. These next few are my favorite of the new alternate jerseys.

The Arizona Coyotes made the move before the NHL draft, bringing back the throwbacks they wore during the 1996 season.

The Anaheim Ducks also released an alternate jersey back in July, which included some designs featuring the Mighty Ducks.

Just yesterday, the St. Louis Blues released their alternate jerseys, which is a replica of what they wore in 1967 as well as the Winter Classic in 2017.

It’s unlikely the Predators will unveil alternate jerseys this offseason, but there’s always hope. According to Jerseywatch, it is unlikely the Nashville Predators will unveil new alternate jerseys this year, but they might pull the trigger heading into the 2019-2020 season.
