#1: Who will be the starting quarterback?

This is the biggest thing to look forward to on Saturday, which is why it is first. All offseason long, Volunteer fans have wondered who the starting quarterback would be for the West Virginia game.

The Volunteers still haven’t officially released who the starting quarterback will be, but many Volunteer fans believe it will be Jarrett Guarantano. On the projected depth chart, it has Guarantano OR Keller Chryst listed as the starter.

This announcement was on Monday. There is a chance we see both quarterbacks in action on Saturday against West Virginia. No matter who is at quarterback, they will have to lead the offense and put some points on the board.

I still personally think Guarantano will be the Volunteers starter on Saturday, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Chryst out there, especially if the offense struggles early. The good thing for either quarterback is that they are surrounded with talent. Each of the running backs can make plays. They can also rely on Marquez Callaway and Jauan Jennings to make plays for them as well.

The Volunteers offense has a chance to expose West Virginia’s defense, especially on the ground. The defense has a hand full with Will Grier and David Sills, so the offense, especially Guarantano or Chryst has to make the most out of their opportunity and put Tennessee in a position to win.
