Tennessee Football: 5 Things to look forward to on Saturday
#4: What running back will show out for the Vols?
One thing the Volunteers should be able to capitalize on this Saturday is the running game. West Virginia’s run defense was ranked 103rd last season, allowing 204.2 rushing yards a game last season. The Volunteers have to capitalize on that this Saturday.
Currently, on the projected depth chart, three running backs are listed as a possible starter. Tim Jordan, Ty Chandler, and Madre London are all listed as a possible starter for the Volunteers this Saturday. I think each of the running backs will get some carries throughout the game.
Chandler saw the most action last year, as he backed up John Kelly. Jordan looked really impressive during the Orange and White game, so it’s no surprise to see him listed as a possible starter. London will likely offer more of a power back, giving the Volunteers a chance to move down the field on the Mountaineers defense.
The Volunteers have to have a good run game on Saturday if they want to have a chance of winning this one.
