The MTSU Blue Raiders will look to bounce back from last week’s loss as they host UT-Martin. Here are our sitewide predictions for that game.

The Blue Raiders began their season with a 35-7 loss to Vanderbilt. They have another in-state matchup, as UT-Martin heads to town.  A win in this game would bring some momentum for Brent Stockstill and the Blue Raiders.

Kickoff will be at 7:00 PM.

Stetson Marlin’s Prediction:

The Blue Raiders should be able to bounce back here, as UT-Martin heads to town. UT-Martin is coming off of a 51-14 loss to Missouri. Both teams will be looking for their first win of the season, but I think MTSU will be the team to pick up their first win of the season.

Kyle Schmidt’s Prediction:

Both of these teams are trying to get on the winning track after losing to SEC opponents Vanderbilt and Missouri.  Both teams lost by big numbers, but their upcoming game should be more evenly matched.  I think MTSU is the better team and will end up winning this game because they will be able to pass on the Martin defense.  I don’t think it will be a blow out victory, but the Blue Raiders will get the victory.

MTSU 27  –  UT-Martin 17

Austin Wright’s Prediction:

MTSU should be hungry for a win and will get one as they face off against a weaker UT Martin team that won’t be able to handle Brent Stockstill at QB. The Blue Raiders need to correct their defensive struggles against the Skyhawks and take better care of the ball since they gave up two turnovers at Vanderbilt last week.

Lastly, the offensive line needs to protect Stockstill to ensure they don’t give up six sacks like they did last week against the Dores.

MTSU 49  –  UT-Martin 10

Chris Clark’s Prediction:

MTSU has a dynamic offense, and they should feast on a smaller school. This will be an easy win for the Blue Raiders to improve to 1-1.

MTSU 27  –  UT-Martin 3

Mike Patton’s Prediction:

Middle Tennessee State returns home after taking a loss at in-state opponent Vanderbilt.  This week, they get another in-state opponent but at the FCS level with UT-Martin. The Skyhawks lost to Missouri last week, but they will be a challenge for the Blue Raiders. In the end, though, MTSU hangs on for the win.
