The Tennessee football team will have their second straight home game, as they take on a struggling UTEP team this Saturday.

Tennessee football has a chance to improve to 2-1 on the season, as the UTEP Miners come to town to take on the Volunteers.

The Miners head into this game with a 0-2 record and are losers of 14 straight games.

They have struggled heavily to start the season off. UTEP has allowed 41 points a game so far, while only scoring 17 a game in those matchups. They average 308 yards a game, mostly from the ground, as they have rushed for 183 yards a game so far. They have struggled defensively, allowing 425 yards a game, including 260 on the ground.

The Volunteers will look to dominate this game from the get-go, getting the starters some rest for next week’s huge matchup. The Volunteers should be able to establish their offense throughout this game but will look to get out to a faster start than they did last week.

I would look for the defense to show out again, forcing a few turnovers like they did last game. The Volunteers will also likely look to make some noise on special teams like they did last week against ETSU when Marquill Osborne blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown.

Last week, I wrote an article highlighting five things to look forward to in the ETSU game. This week, I will do the same thing for the UTEP game. Here are five things to watch for in this week’s matchup against the UTEP Miners.
