#2 – How the QBs will split up snaps

The Volunteers used two quarterbacks last week in their blowout win against ETSU. Jarrett Guarantano got the start for the Volunteers, as he went 8/13 for 154 yards. Last week, I mentioned that I would like to see Guarantano and the offense take more shots downfield, especially against a team like ETSU. The offense did just that. Guarantano was able to complete two passes over 50 yards downfield to Marquez Callaway and Josh Palmer.

Once again, with the easy matchup against UTEP this week, I would like to see both quarterbacks take shots downfield this week.

Keller Chryst came in shortly after the Volunteers built a huge lead and he showed a ton of promise. Chryst only attempted three passes and completed all three of those passes, including a 50-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Murphy.

Both quarterbacks will see playing time this weekend, likely splitting action by half. I would look for both quarterbacks to find wide receivers like Callaway and Jauan Jennings this week, getting the Volunteers out to an early lead against a weak UTEP team.
