Memphis Football: Sitewide Predictions for the Georgia St. Game

Memphis football will look to respond from a bad loss last week as they host Georgia State this week. Here are our sitewide predictions for that game.

Memphis suffered a bad loss last week against Navy. Granted it was raining, but Memphis really should not have lost to Navy, especially after Navy got blown to Hawaii the week prior. Memphis looked to have the game in the bag but Navy was able to rally in the 4th quarter, scoring 13 points to give them the one-point win. They will look to respond this week against a bad Georgia State team.

Stetson Marlin’s Prediction:

This will be a good tuneup game for Memphis after they suffered a bad loss to Navy last week. Georgia State only averages 15 points a game and they won’t be able to keep up with the high scoring offense of Memphis. This one will be a rout.

Memphis 56 – Georgia St 14

Kyle Schmidt’s Prediction:

After a tough loss on the road to Navy, the Tigers will look to bounce back against the Panthers of Georgia State.  The Panthers have started the season 1-1 with a close win over Kennesaw St (24-20) and a blowout loss to NC State (41-7).  I expect Tigers head coach Mike Norvell to have his team ready to play this week and with their high powered offense, they should win this one big.  The Tigers will kickoff Friday evening at 6:00 at Liberty Bowl Stadium in Memphis.

Memphis 56 – Georgia St 14

Austin Wright’s Prediction:

The Memphis Tigers are going to be hungry for a win against South Alabama after losing an intense game at Navy and fans should expect the Tigers to come out swinging. With a potent offense in Memphis, South Alabama will be on their heels the entire game trying to play catch-up in the box score. The Tiger defense will ultimately be too much and Memphis will end the game with a resounding win.

Memphis 42 – Georgia St 17

Chris Clark’s Prediction:

Memphis shocked me by losing to Navy. It is uncharacteristic of them to not score 30+ in a game. However here, I have Memphis improving to 2–1 against Georgia State.
