MTSU Football: Sitewide Predictions for the Georgia Game

MTSU is coming off a win last week against UT Martin but has a very tough matchup against Georgia this week. Here are our sitewide predictions for that game.

MTSU grabbed their first win of the season last week against UT Martin but will play one of the best teams in the country on Saturday as they head down to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs. Kickoff for that game was moved up to noon on Saturday.

Stetson Marlin’s Prediction:

MTSU will play their second SEC team in three weeks as they head down to face Georgia. There isn’t much to say about this matchup except that Georgia is a very good team. They will run away with this one early and put MTSU at 1-2 on the year.

Georgia 59 – MTSU 10

Kyle Schmidt’s Prediction:

The Blue Raiders of MTSU have started the season 1-1 and are coming off a blowout win over UT Martin (61-37).  Unfortunately for MTSU, they will be traveling to Athens this weekend to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs beat up on South Carolina in their last game, winning 41-17.  This one shouldn’t be much of a contest and Georgia will win big.  Kickoff is at 11:00 am Saturday morning at Sanford Stadium
Georgia 63 – MTSU 7

Austin Wright’s Prediction:

MTSU at Georgia this week could be a more intriguing matchup for the Bulldogs than many might expect. Although the Blue Raiders haven’t quite proven themselves to be a real threat to a stout Georgia squad, MTSU could keep it closer than the experts think. Even though QB Brent Stockstill was throwing fire vs UT Martin last week with 396yds for 5TDs, the Bulldog defense will be one of his toughest tasks of the year.

Georgia 42 – MTSU 17

Chris Clark’s Prediction:

Oh boy, this is the second time a smaller sports school in Tennessee is facing Georgia. Last time, we know what happened with that game. (ahem, Austin Peay)

Georgia 49 – MTSU 3
