The Memphis football team is looking to move to 3-1 on the year, as they host South Alabama on Saturday.

South Alabama will head to Memphis on Saturday night looking to upset the Memphis Tigers.

South Alabama heads into this game with a 1-2 record, with their lone win coming last week against Texas State, and their two losses coming at the hands of Lousiana Tech and Oklahoma State.

Evan Orth is the South Alabama playmaker. Orth is South Alabama’s quarterback, but he also leads the team in rushing yards. Orth has gone 42-64 so far this season for 429 yards, including three touchdowns and one interception. He has also rushed the ball 11 times for 104 yards. Kawaan Baker and Tra Minter will likely split snaps at the running back position on Saturday night for the Jaguars.

Jamarius Way is the Jaguars leading receiver by a long shot. Way has 18 receptions for 252 yards and one touchdown. The next closest receiver is Jordan McCray with 64 reception yards.

The South Alabama defense has been the weak point of the team so far, as they have allowed over 38 points a game so far this season, 55 points to Oklahoma State.

Brady White, Memphis’ quarterback, comes into this game red hot. He has 10 touchdown passes on the year already through just three games. He has completed 56 passes on 79 attempts and has passed for 772 yards while throwing just one interception.

Darrell Henderson heads into this game leading the country in rushing, as he has rushed for 521 yards on 36 attempts and six touchdowns.

Stetson Marlin’s Prediction:

South Alabama’s defense has struggled all year long. They will continue to struggle in this game as Brady White has yet another good day through the air and Darrell Henderson creates some havoc on the ground for the Memphis Tigers.

South Alabama will be able to hang around for a little but I believe Memphis will pull away around halftime, winning in a blowout.

Kyle Schmidt’s Prediction:

Saturday the Memphis Tigers will host the South Alabama Jaguars.  The Jaguars bring with them a 1-2 record and hope to improve to .500 by knocking off the Tigers.  Memphis has a very high powered offense and I look for them to have plenty of success against the Jaguars’ defense.  Memphis will win this one big at home.

Memphis 42 – South Alabama 14

Austin Wright’s Prediction:

The Memphis Tigers will be pushing for a huge win against South Alabama and fans should expect the Tigers to come out on fire. With a potent offense in Memphis, South Alabama will be on their heels the entire game trying to play catch-up in the box score. The Tiger defense will ultimately be too much and Memphis will end the game with a resounding win.
