#1 – Solid Goaltending Play

The Predators are set at goaltending. They have Pekka Rinne, who has been in Nashville since the start of his career and is a fan favorite, while Juuse Saros is the backup for the Predators. Rinne is always reliable and has had great regular season success throughout these last few seasons and he finally has a Vezina Trophy to show for that.

Rinne struggled during the playoffs and that was evident. Although it was hard to see him struggle, it was good to see a young Saros get some quality time in goal during the playoffs.

Saros, who is just 23 years old, will only continue to get more and more action throughout these next few seasons. Nothing has been said on when Rinne will retire, but you have to think it will come in the near future. If it does, I think the Predators are perfectly fine with Saros in net. He proved himself last season, playing against some of the best teams in the NHL. He saved over 40 shots in four games last season, and that proves to me that can last against great NHL talent.

With the Predators having talent on both the defensive and offensive lines, they will look to solid goaltending to have yet another successful season with hopes of a Stanley Cup. Although it depends a lot on the play of Rinne and Saros, the Predators defense will have to be good in front of their goaltenders if they want to be successful this season. The Predators defense in front of the net seemed to slack off and struggle during the playoffs, especially during the Jets series.
