#1 – Marcus Mariota looked great

Mariota has been streaky throughout his career in Nashville, but he came up big on Monday night on primetime TV, leading the Titans to a huge win.

Mariota coughed up two fumbles on the Titans first two drives, but never looked back after that. He looked comfortable after those fumbles, leading the Titans back.

He finished the game passing for 240 yards and two touchdowns on 21-29 passing, adding in 10 rushes for 32 yards and a rushing touchdown as well. Mariota also finished with a 119.9 passer rating, his highest passer rating of the year.

Mariota showed strides to me throughout the game. He looked more and more comfortable in the pocket as the game went on, something that hasn’t been done much of this season.

One thing that stuck out to me last night was Mariota’s accuracy. As he got more and more comfortable in the pocket, he was able to make those tough throws. He was able to find Jennings across the middle of the field, setting up a go-ahead touchdown from the Titans.

Mariota was able to find Corey Davis all night long, as Davis finished the night with six receptions for 56 yards. Mariota’s first bad pass came when he rushed a throw to Davis in the end zone, where Davis was sitting wide open. The Titans ended up missing a chip-shot field goal that drive, which ended up not hurting them, but with the New England Patriots up next, the Titans don’t need to leave points like that off the board.

The Titans have a tough task on Sunday against the Patriots, but if Mariota is able to play as he did on Monday, he might have a good chance to win the ball game for the Titans.
